Beenie Man in Jail

Dancehall artist Moses Davis, more popularly known as Beenie Man, has been arrested by the Hunt’s Bay police, resulting from an incident on Saturday will entertainment personality, L A Lewis.

Beenie Man’s manager, 'Blue' said in a telephone interview with the Observer a short while ago, that he was in the process of getting bail for the deejay.

“Yes … it has to do with the LA Lewis incident. Right now we don’t have a lawyer. I am dealing with getting him bailed myself,” Blue said in a hurried conversation.

Last Saturday, after the funeral service for Voicemail member, O’Neil Edwards, LA Lewis reportedly ran into the back of Beenie Man’s spanking Audi Q 7. It is alleged that Beenie Man came out of his vehicle and physically accosted LA Lewis.

The police said they got reports that guns were drawn in the incident and say they will be questioning the Deejay about the reports.

Ding Dong barred from Trinidad

It seems to be a recurring theme: Jamaican artiste barred from entering Caribbean territory. This time the artiste is deejay and dancer Ding Dong, and the Caribbean island is Trinidad.

Ding Dong, who was scheduled to perform at an event in the twin-island republic on Saturday, did not get very far, as on reaching the Piarco International Airport in Port-of-Spain, he was informed that he would not be allowed to enter the country.

It is alleged that the artiste has been placed on a list of Jamaican artistes who have been banned from performing in Trinidad & Tobago. One Chat! source said these artistes, including Ding Dong, have been deemed a threat to Trinidadian society and therefore cannot be allowed into the country.

Last night, Chat! caught up with the artiste, who was still bewildered by the actions of the Trinidadian authorities. “Fi tell you de truth me can’t even explain wha’ go down a Trinidad... mi can’t tell you,” was all Ding Dong could say.

Gyptian in bike crash - Singer sustains cuts, bruises

Reggae singer Gyptian was last night involved in a motorcycle accident along Molynes Road in St Andrew.

Gyptian suffered minor injuries in the accident, which involved a pedestrian.

According to the entertainer, whose real name is Windel Edwards, at approximately 7:00 pm, he was riding alongside singer Nitty Kutchie when the incident occurred. Gyptian explained that upon reaching the vicinity of the Olympia Crown Hotel, he spotted a man standing on the sidewalk.
