Trinis 'Wine Up' for Charly Black

Dancehall artiste Charly Black's Wine Up (Dig Out) is currently one of the 'hottest' songs in Trinidad, according to two of the island's prominent promoters.

The popular 'Country boy', real name Desmond Mendize, recently ended a very successful two-week tour of the island with the single, which was produced by Gesta Music Records on the Motivation rhythm.

He also enjoyed ample success with the European-hit song Claaaty Again, which was released early this year. The 'proud' Trelawny citizen also made his debut appearance in Tobago and received a warm welcome, much to his surprise.

The deejay said he feels the same way as in 2007 when he was a prominent sound systems operator gaining increased recognition as recording artiste.

"The way how the people them a Trinidad receive me, it feel like 2007 when Charly Black buss pon the scene. Right now, everybody a say Charly Black have the hottest song in Trinidad. Even Grenada just confirmed with me that the song is the hottest song over there," he said.

According to Verne Extavor, boss of Antix Promotion, the song has become a must-play in several Trini parties, and the females love it.

"Wine Up slap weh. Word! The song is a must-play right now. Everybody loves it," he said.

His sentiments were also echoed by Nigel Wilson, from Swagger Promotion. He said; "Charly B got the hottest tune in TT for the summer. He got the girls going on bad 'oh gosh' ... the girls are begging for more."

Charly Black has also released the video for Claaaty Again on his YouTube fan page. It will premiere this month on all the major local televisions. The deejay is also getting ready to head to French Guyana and Suriname early next month. He is also planning a Canadian tour commencing in November.

The deejay is also getting ready to release his debut album come February, 2013.
